i am having a bit of a time and needing to vent so please bear with me

i have gotten some requests to do some shoots and each time i say yes it seems that what i am first offered changes and they want something more sexual

it is really distressing that or atleast for me it seems photographers stating they like my look and want to work with me truly only want to think me some whore for play

i actually got a offer of 300 for a hour shoot and it was to just be some lingerie shots and some sensual body focus work and then i get a updated mail saying ohhh and i will be in some poses and a video cam ect. and its only for my collection

i know that i just try to go and take some good pics and enjoy and have fun but just because i don't mind taking sensual images does not mean i offer myself for use by every pervert with a cam

sorry to stress its just i wonder how often this happens to any of you all

please if you have had such things arise share the event with me because i am losing faith

thanks

i can't stress enough contract contrct contrct i only work if there is one even if it is hand written and we are the only 2 signing it as long as it details what is expected of me. Then do nothing more.

That kind of creepy garbage is why I won't work with photographers that don't permit me to bring an escort along. While I can sympathize with gunshy artists who have gotten burned in the past by obnoxious S.O.s, I've got my own safety and comfort to look out for. :-P

While I am comfortable with fetish and erotic themed photo shoots, I'm leery of anyone that wants to change the deal partway through the shoot. Trying to renegotiate once clothing is off is very unprofessional.

<<I won't work with photographers that don't permit me to bring an escort along.>>

I'm way new to even exploring modeling at all, but I would think that this would send up a huge red flag to me. I am totally comfortable with the possibility of erotic modeling, however there is no way I would go to a photoshoot without an escort--be that one of my guys or a friend who happened to be available at the time. Neither of my s.o.'s would get obnoxious/jealous unless things were going way too far (I highly doubt penetration and/or manhandling would be on their list of things that were ok--lol). And, in my opinion, photography is one thing whereas video is something entirely different. How can you change a contract in the middle of things? Ugh! That is quite a bit scary to this newbie.

So, this leads me to the question of how do you set your boundaries? Erotic modeling would be one thing for me, engaging in sexual acts with someone else would be quite another. Forgive me if I sound naive about this stuff. Like I said, I'm very new to all of this.

I think the best way to set your boundaries is to establish them up front before the issue even comes up....so you don't have somenoe try to work their way up to something you are not comfortable. Once you set a boundary stick to it so they know you are serious. For example, if you are fine with modeling alone with or without clothes but will not pose with anyone else....then let the person know that. Even if you for some reason decide that you do not mind posing with someone else I would stand your ground during the shoot and perhaps arrange for another one at a later date if you want to arange things differently. This lets the photgrapher know you will stick to what you say....

read you post and agree with you.... i am a photographer and working on a project currently... i am always up front with whom i shoot, i show them some of my work ( ask to see there work b4 agreeing ) and tell them what my project is about. you should also like them or feel that they are not GREASY !! and there work should speak for them... if they try to give you the shpill on why there so great and how they can make you look......... then they are trying to sell what they dont have....................................trust you instincts..

      PayRoll,

Glad you agree with my post. It is hard for a lot of modern people to trust those pesky instincts, but I get by pretty well with mine.

If you're interested in a bay-area local model, drop a note my way. I'd like to check out your work and discuss possibilities. Now that the holiday chaos is finally over, I am dusting off my wardrobe pieces and doing more shoots. :-)

      Cheerfully,
      - D
      All of the above.

The advice here is good, the other big red flag i see in your post is the rate of $300 ph. Warrants a serious checkout when the going rate for regular photograpy is usually much lower.

    Be safe.

i work as a photographer and when working with anyone, male or female i always say to them to bring along someone else to a shoot, and where applicable all relevent details are put on model release form. we (photographers)are not all a bunch of self serving perverts. there are a lot of professional people out there that love their work

Hey beau, I feel for you. You definitely have to be careful. I am an artist who paints everything including big women. Often women try to pay me with sexual favors, so it goes both ways. I am generally flattered when that happens, but sex doesn't pay for my materials. I'd bring someone with me regardless to a sexy photo shoot....Thank god he showed you his creepiness via e-mail instead of when you arrived there, alone.
